TERJEMAHAN NAMA TUMBUH-TUMBUHAN PERUBATAN DALAM KITAB AL-QANUN FI AL-TIBB DARI BAHASA ARAB KE BAHASA MELAYU: KAEDAH, MASALAH, DAN PENYELESAIAN

TRANSLATION NAME MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE BOOK OF AL-QANUN FI AL-TIBB FROM ARABIC TO MALAY: METHOD, PROBLEMS, AND SOLUTIONS

Abstrak

In Kitab al-Qanun fi al-Tibb, Ibn Sina has listed more than 400 species of medicinal plants. Most of these plants are not found in an equatorial climate countries such as Malaysia. Therefore, the plants are certainly not be found in the Malay language, especially if the plants are less well known. Therefore, this paper will propose several methods that can be used to translate the name of medicinal plants from Arabic to Malay, especially for  plants that still do not have a match in the Malay language. This paper will also present a number of problems which are expected to be faced by the translator and a solution to the problem.
