TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES FOR THE FACULTY OF COMMERCE AND ADMINISTRATIVE SCIENCES STUDENTS AT DHOFAR UNIVERSITY: A FIELD STUDY

Abstract

This quantitative study discusses time management strategies for Dhofar University students in the Sultanate of Oman. Time management is clearly reflected in educational situations, in terms of punctuality and attending lectures on time. The failure of assignments submitting and request postponement; is a failure in time management and planning. Therefore, the study aims to discuss the time management strategies in students’ social life, and academic life. The analytical descriptive approach was designed. Two-pronged questionnaire was designed. The time manage in the social life (22 statements) and time management at the University (18 statements), distributed to a random sample of (500) students. The findings revealed that; the time management strategies pursued by the students in both axes were medium. The highest responses were: "Time is a blessing from Allah" and the lowest; "I avoid as much as possible the waste of time." The researcher recommended the expanding of time management understanding to encompass all areas of life.
