Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the effectivenes of cognitive-behavioural therapy from an Islamic perspective in raising the level of self-esteem among 8th, 9th and 10th grade students in the Modern Arab School. The researcher identified the problem through her work as an educational and psychological counselor at the Intrnational schools in Malaysia. She found that some students are not compatible, have low self-esteem, are hesitant while answering exam questions, and while participating in school activities. The sample is (30) students who will be selected from age 14 to 16 years old. They will be divided into two groups, experimental (15) and control (15) students. The experimental group will be subjected to a cognitive behavioural counselling program from an Islamic perspective (Al-Shennawi model). The researcher used (10) grades (Rosenberg) scale of self-esteem. The statistical methods were used were; (t) test and descriptive analysis of the self-assessment scale. The findings revealed that the cognitive-behavioural therapy from an Islamic perspective is statistically significant.
