TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL ACTIVITIES SPECIALISTS IN LIGHT OF THEIR TRAINING NEEDS: A FIELD STUDY AT EDUCATIONAL PROVINCES IN THE SULTANATE OF OMAN

Abstract

This quantitative study aims at diagnosing the reality of the training needs for the school activities specialists at the directorates of education administration in the educational governorates. The problem is that current training programs for school specialists are insufficient to prepare and qualify specialists to carry out their tasks. In the study carried out by the Department of Educational Activities at the Ministry of Education, there are many difficulties faced by teachers and students that relate to educational activities, the most important of which is the lack of specialized training programs for supervisors of school activities. The researcher followed the descriptive approach which depends on describing the phenomenon as it exists in reality and expressing it quantitatively. The study population consists of (990) specialists, and the sample of the study (355) specialists and specialists. The questionnaire consisted of (5) axes including (50) paragraphs. The findings revealed that: the training needs for the areas of personal skills of work, organization and evaluation came within the degree of great need, and the special areas of planning, follow-up and implementation within the intermediate requirement. The results indicated that (44) out of (50) paragraphs represent the knowledge and skills that need to be trained by school activities specialists. The researcher recommended the need to pay attention to the training of school activities specialists, and the specialists of activities to develop themselves self. And involve school activities specialists in identifying their training needs.
