A STUDY UNIT BASED ON THE ROUND HOUSE SHAPE STRATEGY TO DEVELOP SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTS AT NINTH GRADERS

Abstract

This research aimed to construct a study unit based on the strategy of the Round House Diagram in science, to develop the scientific concepts among the ninth grade students at the governorate of interior in Sultanate of Oman. The study sample consisted of (57) 9th grade students at Hay ALtorath basic education and Mohammed bin Masoud basic education. The sample was classified into two groups. The experimental group consisted of (30) students used Round House Diagram strategy. The second group was the control group, consisted of (27) students used the ordinary teaching method. The experiment took eight weeks (7 periods a week). A multiple choice test was designed, consisted of (36) items. And also a unit of study based on the Round House Diagram strategy; the (electricity and its technical applications) unit at the science book was design by the researcher. The statistical analysis of the post test revealed that there are significant differences between the experimental and control group at (0.05≤α), the total marks of the test was for the experimental group. the study proposed the need to train teachers on using Round House Diagram strategy.
