Abstract

Kaab Bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, is one of the poets of the Messenger, peace be upon him, along with Hassan bin Thabit and Abdullah bin Rawwahah, may Allah be pleased with them all. However, Kaab was not only a poet but also participated in the battles of Muslims with the Messenger (PBUH), defending the great Islamic religion, as he participated in all battles with the Prophet, peace be upon him, except for Tabuk Battle. In view of the above, the researchers agreed that Kaab bin Malik’s poetry of battles is firmly relative to the history of Islam, with its special features, and unique characteristics, which can be an extensive field to conduct deep research. Therefore, this research aims to highlight all these matters. In addition, it seeks to highlight the life background of Kaab bin Malik, as well as his abundant poetry. In view of this, the researchers address and analyze the available information and the authors’ writings about him. The research concluded that the character of Kaab bin Malik was shaped by multiple factors, as he belonged to a reputable family with a prestigious status since the pre-Islam era, which was boosted by converting to Islam. Furthermore, both his father and his uncle were poets, and their poetry was recorded. With respect to the serious perimeter in which he lived with the Prophet (PBUH), especially in the battles, it was a key factor that had a significant impact on his personality. Besides, the researchers concluded that his poetry was influenced by the style of the Holy Quran, as well as its rhetoric and eloquence in making his poems.
